Blank Plate gears up for Season 2
Last month, 2011 Implementation Award winner Blank Plate was invited to participate in the “Communities of _____” exhibit at Parsons’ Aronson Galleries, which celebrated works at the intersection of design and community engagement. Visitors to the exhibit got the chance to experience up to six activities from this creative culinary program, including Tape Tag, Taste Test, Story Stickers, and Food Memory. While Hurricane Sandy interrupted plans for a related symposium, the Blank Plate team looks forward to discussing how their prototype workshop engages teens with food justice in the “Communities of _” talks planned for next spring.
To coincide with the exhibit opening, Blank Plate launched a fundraising campaign on Indiegogo. They have until November 24 to reach their goal of $10,500, at which point they plan to launch a bigger, better Blank Plate in 2013! Share this campaign, contribute, and cheer them on at indiegogo.com/blankplate.
