Every semester, the ADC, in partnership with the School Art League and the New York City Department of Education, offers a series of six Saturday Career Workshops to 50 artistically talented high school juniors. Leading visual arts professionals introduce students to careers in visual communications, while helping them build competitive portfolios for art school applications. Through the Create! Don’t Hate. initiative students learn to use the tools of the design trade to communicate social responsibility. The 2009 Fall workshops were led by Elisa Halperin, Karen Cohn, Lucie Kim, Fernanda Cohen, Jason Lancaster, Alex Suh and Boyoung Lee.
