Crime is a part of our daily reality and when it comes to speaking up about witnessing crimes, it’s obvious there’s a disconnect between law enforcement and the community. The goal of my thesis is to increase community support and stimulate interchangeable information crucial to personal safety and cooperation with law enforcement. Today’s wireless technology has redefined the relationship of communication in society. Currently mobile devices are only used to dial 911 during emergencies. Nevertheless, with modern technology and the implementation of my thesis, mobile devices can become extremely valuable when reporting a crime.

Police depend heavily on the assistance of the community to report crime. INNER-CHANGE’S mission is to introduce simple mobile solutions for reporting useful tips when witnessing crime, while interacting with local law enforcement. Reporting a tip anonymously to law enforcement is as simple as witness, capture and send.

The INNER-CHANGE mobile application will become useful to send a text message tip as well as capture an unlawful situation or criminal suspect and report them anonymously to law enforcement as picture messages. This app is ideal for those individuals who may be uncomfortable verbally explaining what they have witnessed.
