CreateAthon® is a 24-hour, work-around-the-clock creative blitz during which creative agencies generate strategic and creative work for local nonprofits. Since the program’s beginning in 1997, 73 agencies, 2 colleges and 1 Ad Club have held 24-hour events in their cities. This effort has benefited over 1,100 nonprofits with 2,500 projects valued at over $11 million. CreateAthon’s next step is to establish an organization to expand CreateAthon’s impact. CreateAthon will reach more communities, explore deeper, more collaborative services to nonprofits, and champion the power of collaboration to create social change.

CreateAthon is ready to become a movement for social change.

Great storytellers work all night for nonprofits that need it.

The energy of CreateAthon produces great solutions.

Great solutions, built from great collaboration, create social change.

The proposed business model will create a solid foundation to grow CreateAthon to its greatest potential.

CreateAthon® has been managed by Riggs Partners alongside their for-profit business. To expand the impact of this program to its greatest potential, CreateAthon must stand alone. Focused efforts by an organization whose sole mission is to grow CreateAthon can achieve the goals of better serving local nonprofits.

A full-time organization is needed to champion CreateAthon. Staff will work to expand the program but, more importantly, also explore new ways to create deeper solutions for nonprofit organizations. By combining diverse revenue streams with a refined mission, this organization will become the foundation of CreateAthon.
