America’s Gaining Waistline

In less than 20 years, the percentage of Americans categorized as obese has tripled. In 1998, one in ten Americans were considered obese, in 2008, that number was one in three. 10% of all yearly medical costs are attributed to this problem — $147 billion dollars annually in the U.S. alone. Type 2 Diabetes is the number one health problem associated with obesity.
