Sidebars_aboutproj
When budgets are cut in K-12 schools in the US, the art programs are often the first things to go. What many people don't realize is that these creative programs can help students in their academic and personal lives and are extremely beneficial and necessary. I created this app to help people to get educated on these benefits as well as find ways to support their local schools and national organizations. It also provides them a way of finding creative events in their area so that they may enrich their lives and hopefully the lives of their children as well.

Sidebars_challenge

The challenge here was to create an app that people would want to keep coming back to. Since most schools don't have donation funds set up, it was also necessary to figure out how to facilitate local donations. Streamlining the app was also key, since there is a lot of content.

By allowing GPS to search for events in the user's area it becomes more than a one-use app. Not only will they be alerted when there are new events in their area but they can also search for events while traveling. Contact information for local schools and strict organization streamlined the app and made donations possible.
