Explore EDU is an Iphone app for listings of free educational and cultural events in your city. The primary goal is to create an awareness of the abundant opportunities for self education and learning and to help communities take advantage of them. In these economic times, museums and advanced education seem like luxuries to many of us. By creating listings and calendars of free museum days and cultural events that are happening all around us, I hope to create an awareness that education and learning are not out of reach, regardless of financial situation.

Icon and start-up screen to select your city.

City home screen has four options for viewing events, the first being a calendar listing for planning ahead.

The Listing for an individual day can be sorted alphabetically, by proximity, or by category as shown above.

These listings lead to further information on events with links to call, get directions to, share on a social media, or save to your personal calendar.

You can also find events by venue. These venue profiles will list what days they are free to the public.

Education, for some, is becoming further out of reach as museums and advanced education are seen increasingly as luxuries.

By designing this app and having it coded, communities can see calendars of free events in their own city. Events like lectures, gallery openings, cultural festivals, and free museum days will be easily listed and accessed within this app to get people aware and participating in their own cities educational opportunities.
