My thesis for the BFA Graphic Design program is an investigation into the history and current practice of design created with positive social intent. It currently takes the form of a 7,000-word research paper and concept map. So far, the project has inspired conversation and thought on executing design for social good within my own design community. A goal of the project is to inspire others to put the knowledge to use.

Sidebars_challenge

The first part of the challenge I faced was to get a grasp of the range, history and impact of this topic. The second part will be to present this to the design community in a manner that is clear and relevant.

My research paper will culminate in a publication and wall treatment to be presented in the May 2009 Senior Thesis Exhibition to the Corcoran community as well as the general public at the Corcoran Gallery of Art.
