We documented an abandoned house in Hamtramck, MI set for demolition. In the process we documented its history, and the people who lived in it. We found an abundance of useable toys, and cleaned them in hopes to give them a new life. We created an online store and an event in order to sell/raise money to give back to the community that would benefit the neighborhood.

Sidebars_challenge

To create a project that positions the idea of change in Detroit in a positive light. So much negative press about Detroit makes it difficult to see it in a new way. This project was to use design thinking to create positive change.

Blank blank toy toys is an online shop where toys from the demolished house can be purchased. All proceeds go to the neighborhood for the to purchase something for the children of this community. Blank blank toy toys was also an on-site toy store for one day after the building was demolished by the city of Hamtramck, MI.
