The Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates (SABA) required an original and memorable approach to their communication format and identity. As a non-profit organization funds were limited for web site development and print campaigns. The visual elements of their communication efforts must be visually distinctive in form and flexible in application capabilities. The look-and-feel personality of the various applications must appeal to the cycling enthusiast and to an active population of potential members and supporters.
The SABA visual identity program is unique through the use of illustrative elements that identify with the active cycler that enjoys the Sacramento region as their touring environment. In place of a traditional symbol a series of illustrative images depicting iconic Sacramento landmarks are applied in various combinations and sequences. A strong identity color of warm green is the single most visible element. The identity color is placed against a clean white ground with gray typography. This fresh and clean color personality relates well to the natural beauty and conservation of the environment.
