Sidebars_aboutproj
This project began from an Honors Think Tank class that looked at the issue of the patient experience within healthcare. What is a patient experience? How is this aspect of healthcare dealt with? Do patients have a say in how their experience plays out? These are just some of the issues we looked at. Through design thinking and empathetic exploration, the thirteen of us devised various projects to positively impact the experience patients have through environmental, process, and cultural changes.

Innovation_schematic_adj
The center is designed to be a unifying point of collaboration across the community with patient experience as the central focus. Empowerment and cultural impact are the keys to its success.
Sidebars_challenge

The challenge of this project is to empower patients to be involved in the development of their healthcare experience side by side with their care providers. The goal is to create cultural change through innovative projects and activities that empower patients and caregivers alike.

Sidebars_solution

Developing a center that allows ideas from patients and caregivers to be nurtured and developed will add value to the community and its healthcare. The center will create a ripple effect of culture change that will center around patient empathy and experience.
