Meet Stan the can, an animated character that helps describe just where recyclables go.

Kendall and Bryan brainstorm ideas and come up with the character Stan the Can!

Kendall sketches a storyboard that follows Stan's friends through the recycling process as they become useful school supplies.

Poster 1: Meet Stan. Poster 2: Stan is tossed out & meets his friends. Poster 3: Stan & his friends are recycled. Poster 4: Stan's friends are new and useful school objects, while Stan remains a can.

The problem was the waste created by students, and the potential lack of knowledge about where their recyclables go, and what happens to them. • Why should students recycle? • What happens after you drop your recyclables in the bin? • What is the best solution to inform students in schools?

We decided that a mascot or icon “Stan the Can” would create interest and guide students as they journey through the process of recycling. The posters can be followed like a story. There can potentially be an animated short shown to all classes.
